Claire had a good night last night. She slept most of the night and through some of her tests this morning. Claire and I woke up around 6am when they turned off her feeds. Then we went downstairs to get a Chest X-Ray and Head Ultrasound and both tests had good results which meant no change from the last tests we had. Then we bathed her, a nurse initialed Claire's chest with our Cardiothoracic Surgeons initials (JMH), then she had an Echo Cardiogram, and finally we passed Claire around the room the last half hour for a snuggle with grandparents and parents. So far this morning we took her downstairs for surgery around 10:45. Dr Hammel came in and told us all 4 of her lines were in place at noon. They called about 12:40 to say that they made the first incision. A Surgery Nurse, Patti, just stopped by to say that she is now on the Bypass Machine that pumps her heart for her at 2:15 and they were done evaluating her and about to begin. We will keep you updated as to how it goes. They are expecting to finish around 5.

I got up and went to Mass this morning-you are all on my mind-Julie updated me a couple of hours ago-I can't imagine what your day has been like - God Bless you all and we pray that Claire comes out strong and healthy and pink! She will-she is a little fighter.
