5th Floor Update

I have enclosed some pictures of Claire hanging out on the 5th floor and all of her new christmas stuff from family. I am thinking she is going to be spoiled, what do you think? She looks great, is breastfeeding awesome, and her jaundice is slowly working its way out of her system. She has been working hard preparing for surgery. Our biggest obstacle this week is maintaining and trying to gain weight. The doctors took away her TPN and Lipids on Monday and now we are getting back her Lipids. They also took off her Pre and Post Oxygen Monitors so that we have less cords to mess with when we hold and feed her. Her surgery date depends on what our MRI shows tomorrow at 9:15 am. I really hope that we get the results fast. It is all the waiting that is so hard! If results are good than we are looking at early next week for surgery. If they are not favorable than it means we need to wait another few weeks. If Claire cooperates than she does not need to be reintibated for the MRI. They told us to feed her right before and swaddle her and hopefully she can sleep right through it. I am able to sit down in the viewing room during her MRI. We are enjoying our time here on the 5th floor it gives us a better idea of what being home is going to be like. The hardest part about doing so good now is now knowing that after surgery we have to go back to the PICU and go through the whole recovery process again. For now we are enjoying our time and each other!
