Surgery Update

We met with our cardiac surgeon this afternoon and said that there is a 40% chance that he would do her surgery tomorrow afternoon if he finishes his morning surgery at a decent time otherwise it will be the morning of Monday, December 15th. This was a little later than we expected but being that we are not a very critical patient and they have been very busy sometimes you have to take what you can get. Claire's biggest goal these next few days will be to put on some weight. We keep fluctuating between 6lbs 9 ounces and 7lbs. Another challenge has been keeping her intravenous access, her lines have been leaking and infiltrating. Over the last week we have gone through a femeral line, a PICC line, and a Peripheal IV. Finally, I told the doctors that is enough if the only thing we need these lines for are her Lipids. Her Cardiologist decided to take away the Lipids and double fortify and increase her continuous breastmilk feeds. Claire has been getting many visits for the holidays. First we had the State Troopers with thier dog, then came Sirlion the Bull and the Omaha Beef Rump Roasters, the Omaha Fire Department, and just today Santa came with the Marines.
